An FC Barcelona star has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo calling for a guard of honour in El Clasico on Saturday.
Ronaldo Wants Guard Of Honour For Real In El Clasico
After Real Madrid's recent FIFA Club World Cup trophy win, the Portuguese admitted he would like to see their rivals give them a guard of honour in the much anticipated Clasico on Saturday afternoon.
Jordi Alba seems to think otherwise, however, suggesting that a guard of honour might be slightly unnecessary.
"We will see what happens on Saturday but I think the guard of honour is done in competitions in which we've played, and we did not play the Club World Cup," he said, according to Sport.
The Spaniard also added that although a win for Barca would not mean that Real have no chance of winning La Liga, it would certainly make the task more difficult.
"We're arriving at the game in good form but against Real Madrid it's always a different and complicated game," he added.
"If we win at the Bernabéu I would not rule out Madrid from winning the title, but it would be a big blow for them."
