Pique sent his message of consolation via Twitter after Argentina lost the Copa America final 4-1 on penalties to Chile.
"Even though you didn't win, Leo, you know that you're D10S," he tweeted.
Messi was the only Argentine to convert his spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out, with Gonzalo Higuain shooting over the crossbar and Ever Banega's attempt being saved by Claudio Bravo.
The Chile goalkeeper is the only player who can still attempt to win seven trophies this year, after already collecting the treble with Barcelona.
Pique also tweeted to his club goalkeeper, congratulating Bravo on the title: "Congratulations to Chile and @C1audioBravo on winning the Copa América for the first time in their history."

Messi, meanwhile, remains trophyless with Argentina's senior national team and the Albiceleste are still chasing their first trophy in 22 years.
