The keeper, who plays with Messi for the Spanish giants, recognised the brilliance of the Argentine, and believes that it will take the entire Chile side to keep the 28-year-old quiet.
"The truth is that it is not easy, seeing the quality that Leo has and what he has done throughout his career, it's been amazing," he said, according to Hard Tackle.
"I think that our focus is the team – that as a team we can control Leo and the other class players."
Argentina and Chile will square off in the final on Saturday evening, with Messi and co looking to make-up for their loss in the 2014 World Cup final against Germany.
Messi has just one goal to his name in this year's Copa America, but was in sublime form against Paraguay in their semi-final, where he assisted three of their six goals.
