Tonight we see Chelsea travel to Anfield for the first-leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final with the ambition of remaining in the hunt for four trophies this season.
It can be said that both side's have been on on a winning run recently, but the Blues have certainly been more convincing in the league than Liverpool.
Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, won this trophy back in his first stint as boss of the Blues, and enjoyed a 3-2 win over Liverpool in the final.
These two teams have met a total of 36 times in the last 10 years and that number included 16 cup matches.
This will be the sixth meeting between Liverpool and Chelsea in Capital One Cup history, Liverpool have won three of the previous matches, despite losing the final in 2005.
History recently seems to favour the Reds in this competition, who have won both of their previous meetings with Chelsea at Anfield, but it must be pointed out that Chelsea have lost just one of their last seven league and cup games against Liverpool.
Liverpool are the most successful club in Capital One Cup history with eight trophies and have made 11 finals along the way, but in 11 previous semi-final appearances, the Blues have reached the final six times.
Here is how they line-up:
Liverpool: Mignolet; Can, Skrtel, Sakho; Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Moreno; Markovic, Coutinho, Sterling.
Chelsea: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Filipe Luis; Matic, Mikel; Willian, Fabregas, Hazard; Diego Costa.
