Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas hit back at the press after scoring twice in the Blues' 4-2 extra-time win over Leicester City in the EFL Cup.
Reports: Man Utd Eye January Swoop For Real Star
The former FC Barcelona star started only his second game under new manager Antonio Conte on Tuesday night, and produced a Man of the Match performance.
The 29-year-old has had to fight off constant rumours that he is unhappy at Stamford Bridge over the past few months, and hopes this display will put an end to all the "rubbish" in the media.
"I was happy to play, first of all, from the start, and secondly, if I can help the team, then fantastic," Fabregas told Sky Sports.
"Hopefully this will shut up a few journalists, a few dailies, a few whatever, who are talking rubbish all the time and focus on what's important, Chelsea winning.
"I'm focusing on playing well and when I have the chance, I'll show what I can do, because I know what I can do and it's a lot for this team."
