Capital One Cup Result: Manchester City 3-1 (4-3 agg) Everton Date: 27 January 2016 Venue: Etihad Stadium Manchester City came from behind to beat Everton 4-3 on aggregate in their Capital One Cup semifinal on Wednesday. The Toffees took the lead in the 18th minute when Ross Barkley fired a shot from long range into the bottom-left corner of the goal, leaving Cabellero with no chance to make the stop. City were back on level terms in the 24th minute. Fernandinho unleashed a shot from the edge of the area, hitting Leighton Baines on the way into the back of the net with a loop over Robles. Sergio Aguero came agonisingly close to finding the target for City in the 35th minute. The Argentine cut in from the left before striking with great power into the inside of the post. The Sky Blues took the lead in the 70th minute. Raheem Sterling provided the cutback from the left which found Kevin De Bruyne, and the Belgium international lashed into the bottom corner of the goal. Six minutes later the hosts were 3-1 ahead, and 4-3 ahead on aggregate, when Aguero found the back of the net. De Bruyne played in a lovely cross from the right and Aguero nodded home via the inside of the far post.
