Rumours suggest that the Belgian tactician is expected to replace Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich ahead of next season.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the former Manchester City captain is eager about the opportunity and discussions have progressed significantly.
It is said the Bavarians and Burnley are currently at the stage of finding an agreement on a compensation fee, with Kompany still having four years on his deal in England.
The Clarets were promoted to the Premier League in 2023 following an excellent 2022/23 EFL Championship campaign, but suffered an immediate drop back down after 24 defeats this term.
That, however, has not deterred Bayern, who recently stepped up their search for Tuchel's successor after the German confirmed his departure ahead of their final Bundesliga game of the season.
