Zamalek was eliminated in the CAF Confederations Cup quarter-finals against Cape Town side Stellenbosch FC and questions were raised over Peseiro's future ahead of the following season.
Mido, who is reported to be on Zamalek's planning committee, said the Portuguese coach would remain in charge of the Egyptian giants despite their exit from the cup, local publications reported.
"Peseiro is a great coach," Mido said.
"He took on the role at a very difficult time for the White Castle," the former player added.
Further reports suggested that Mido was one of the names to replace the former Nigeria manager but he was quick to dismiss these claims, stating the club has full trust in Peseiro's abilities.
"Zamalek SC has a technical director and that is Jose Peseiro," the former Tottenham forward said.
"We have confidence in him and his ability to get the team back on track," he added.
