Following Marcel Koller's sacking from Al Ahly, the head coach is now reportedly at loggerheads with the Egyptian side's board regarding his severance pay.

The Swiss coach was sacked after the Red Devils' elimination from the CAF Champions League semi-finals at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns. Shortly after the game, the club announced Koller's departure by mutual consent.
However, Koller's representatives are not happy with the ongoing contract dispute between the club and coach, Egyptian publication Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.
Journalist Khaled El-Ghandour reported that Koller's agent, Dino Lamberti, was expected to take urgent action against the club.
"Dino Lamberti will arrive in Cairo from Switzerland within 48 hours due to the crisis surrounding Koller’s contract with Al Ahly," El-Ghandour said.
"Lamberti is refusing for Koller to receive just two months' salary after being dismissed. He insists the coach must be paid the full value of his contract through to June 2026, along with bonuses," El-Ghandour added.
According to Yallakora, a source revealed that Koller had initially signed a two-year contract with the Red Giant in August 2022. In August 2023, Lamberti negotiated an extension for Koller until June 2026.
However, an agreement was in place that should either party terminate the contract, the other party will receive the full remaining payment.
"The contract stipulates that if either party terminates the agreement, they must pay the remaining value of the contract until its end," the source said.

"Al Ahly believes that Koller was not officially notified of the activation of the final year — the upcoming season — and therefore he is only entitled to the salaries for May and June. However, Koller believes the clause applies to the full contract up to June 2026, meaning he should be paid for 14 months."
