After a mooted move to Saudi Arabia fell through recently, a new club has reportedly entered the race to sign Percy Tau.

In recent weeks, it was reported that Al Ahly are open to parting ways with the reigning CAF Men's Interclub Player of the Year.
Newly promoted Saudi Pro League outfit Al Kholood Club were the first side believed to test the Club of the Century's resolve regarding the forward's departure.
However, they were unable to get a deal done, with it said the 30-year-old was not satisfied with the contract offered.
According El Watan, the Witbank native has not had to wait that long to receive another offer from the Gulf, with an unnamed club in the UAE Pro League having now expressed interest in landing his services.

The club in question is said to be offering the Bafana Bafana man a $2 million (R36.5 million) annual salary, an amount Tau is believed to be happy with.
The same report states that the attacker will hold a meeting with the Ahly chiefs at the end of the week to finalise the details of a departure, with the Red Devils said to have now green-lit an exit for him should they receive adequate compensation.
Tau is approaching the final year of his contract at the Cairo International Stadium, and despite being an integral part of the Ahly squad during the 2022/23 campaign, his form has dropped off in the ongoing season.

This is perhaps due to the persistent injuries he has sustained in this campaign. The former Brighton and Hove Albion star was out with a hamstring injury following South Africa's latest 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, only returning last week to score the winner against Future FC.
