The Saudi Pro League boss who condemned Pitso Mosimane and Abha Club to top-division relegation has reacted to defeating the South African tactician's side on the final day of the season.

Despite being mandated to keep the Leaders of the South in the oil-rich kingdom's top flight when he signed his deal at the beginning of 2024, the Kagiso native was unable to guide Abha to survival and, unfortunately for him, it happened on the final day of the Saudi campaign.
Mosimane's charges went into the final day of the season against Al-Hazm with their fate in their own hands as a win would ensure that they retained their status as a Saudi Pro League side, but even after going into the halftime break with a slender 1-0 lead courtesy of Ahmed Abdu, it was not to be.

Hazm returned to the pitch in the second half seemingly reinvigorated and found the back of the net twice as the already-relegated outfit managed to edge the encounter 2-1 to subject Abha to second-division football come the 2024/25 campaign.
After the match, Al-Hazm boss Saleh Al-Mohammadi claimed that the game was one of the easier fixtures he had to prepare his players for this season.
"I consider it one of the easiest technical matches that we played, and we deserved to score more goals in the first half, and we missed chances, which made the match difficult, but in the end we scored two goals and achieved victory," the 43-year-old said, as per Aawsat.

"They played with the spirit, performance, and mentality with which they sealed the league, and this is the goal to play a match worthy of the Roshen League."
