Following a brace in a 4-2 win over Al Ittihad, the 39-year-old broke Abderrazak Hamdallah's scoring record in Saudi's top division after reaching 35 goals for the campaign.

According to BBC Sport, Hamdallah's tally of 34 strikes in the 2018/19 was previously the most goals a player had scored in a single season in the league.

The victory saw Al Nassr end the campaign second on the table behind runaway winners Al Hilal, who finish the term unbeaten after winning 31 of their 34 matches.

Hamdallah, who now plays for Al Ittihad, set the record while on the books of Al Nassr and achieved his feat in four fewer appearances than Ronaldo.

The 33-year-old scored 112 goals in 108 matches for the Knights of Najd before completing a free transfer to Al Ittihad in January 2022.

Ronaldo will be hoping to take this season's form into the upcoming 2024 UEFA European Championship with Portugal, whom he will captain in Germany.
