Earlier this year, the 70-year-old football chief left the position as a consequence of his imprisonment.
Mortada had been sent to jail for a month for verbally insulting Al Ahly chairman Mahmoud El-Khatib.
Zamalek's board of directors elected Soliman Wahdan to replace him until his imprisonment was over.
Having only recently returned, however, Mansour may have to leave the position once again, this time on a permanent basis.
According to KingFut, the Egyptian court of administrative justice has ordered that minister of youth and sports, Ashraf Shobi, remove the president of the White Knights from his role at the club as soon as possible because he was recently in jail.
They have also ordered the club's board of directors to hold elections for a new president so the vacancy can be filled.
It is said that Mortada has already appealed the orders, and will be looking to maintain his 18-year ruling of the club.
The news of Mortada's potential removal comes at a moment when Zamalek have been performing below their usual standards on the pitch.
