Algerian giants MC Alger have released an official statement amid an official investigation into the altercation that took place after their CAF Champions League clash against Orlando Pirates.

Chaos ensued following Pirates 1-0 aggregate win over Alger as fans invaded the pitch at the same time that coaches, staff, and players from both sides were involved in a post-match brawl.
A viral video showed MC Alger personnel punching a Pirates official, which is said to have started the scuffle.
According to WinWin, CAF launched an official investigation into the matter. The match commissioner's reports showed clashes between fans as well as MC Alger players reportedly attempting to attack match officials.
In response, the Algerian side released a statement and said CAF contacted them to tell their side of events.

Algeria MC received a letter from the Disciplinary Committee of the African Football Federation (CAF), regarding the events that occurred after the end of the encounter of Orlando Pirates with South Africa for the CAF quarter-final, in which Algeria MC states its total rejection of all forms of violence, and always adheres to the principles of sportsmanship, and integrity, Fair play, which solidifies the club’s values and its ancient history, as for what has been reported in the official reports on events following the match, the club assures that it adheres to defend the right of the team by all available legal means.
