An Al Ahly icon has had some harsh words for Percy Tau and his performances for the Egyptian giants this season.

During the 2022/23 season, the Witbank native was a catalyst for a lot the Red Devils' domestic and continental success.
The Bafana Bafana winger scored five goals and provided five assists during that season's CAF Champions League campaign as he helped the north African giants extend their record for most continental crowns to a then 11 championships.
His displays with the Cairo-based side even saw him win the most recent CAF Men's Interclub Player of the Year award, but in the latest campaign, the former Brighton Hove Albion man has struggled to hit those same heights.
As a consequence, the 30-year-old has come under tremendous scrutiny, most recently from a former Ahly star in Sayed Moawad.

The former midfielder, who played for the Club of the Century between 2008 and 2014, winning three Champions League titles in the process, has questioned Tau's mentality this season.
"Certainly, Percy Tau's level in training may not be the best. He is a good player, but he is 'temperamental'," the 45-year-old said, as per El Watan.
"When he is at his best psychologically, he performs at his best, but the current season was not good, and his psychological state affected him after the African Nations Cup.

"Marcel Koller does not rely on any player who does not perform strongly in training, and the coach refuses to include any player who has a sign of anger on his face."
