One of Africa's biggest teams has been accused of being disrespectful after a European manager walked away from the job.
Nigeria's struggles to find a suitable long-term head coach look set to continue for a while longer, and they will play the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a caretaker coach in charge, namely Augustine Eguavoen.

Last week, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced Bruno Labbadia as their new head coach.
However, just days later, it was confirmed the German tactician would no longer be taking the job after differences arose during negotiations.
In addition to the two parties not finding a solution over contract talks, there were further reports suggesting that coaches Herve Renard and Janne Andersson were the initial frontrunners for the Super Eagles job but after they both pulled out, the NFF hastily announced Labbadia as their new boss, and he was not impressed by the move.
Another coach who applied for the job, former Union Saint-Gilloise manager Roberto Landi, has now slammed the NFF for the manner in which they handle the appointment of managers.
"I don't know, but that is crazy," Landi said of the Labbadia saga during an interview with SportsBoom.com.
"If that's the case, it's crazy. No one wants to be treated that way or disrespected, and you see why one would walk out.
"I say it, because no one want to be treated in that way."
Speaking on how the federation failed to reply to him after he submitted his CV for the job, Landi added: "[In my case,] I spoke with my agent, and he's assured that all is well, while looking at some possible offers on the table.
"I wondered on the silence since my resume got turned in and no one from the federation has reached out.
"All contractual agreements need to be covered before anything becomes official, and a big body like the NFF knows this.
"I do not know any other details of this story aside from what we read from the media, but I believe they know what to do.
"Maybe you want to know what their [NFF] preferences might be. We're waiting, but everyone knows how big a job the Super Eagles role is.

"Yes, certainly, the lure is still there. Mr Austin [Eguavoen] takes charge of the team's games for next month, I suppose? I wish him and the team the best of luck in that. Ciao."
