Cameroon's football federation has reportedly suspended 62 footballers for lying about their age, including a player who was in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad.

According to the Daily Mail, on the weekend, the Cameroonian Football Federation released a list of 62 players who provided false information relating to their age.
Included in that list was 17-year-old local footballer Wilfried Nathan Douala, who was a surprise inclusion in Rigobert Song's AFCON squad in the Ivory Coast.
The federation has accused the midfielder, who captains Victoria United in Cameroon, of falsifying his birth documents and has suspended him for the league's upcoming matches.
While former boss Song earned praised for spotting Douala, the player did not feature for the Indomitable Lions at the tournament that ran between January and February.

It remains unknown as to what Douala's real age is as he joins 61 other footballers in being banned from participating in league games in the country for the rest of the season.
