It has been reported that referee Charles Bulu collapsed during Ivory Coast's AFCON qualifier against Ethiopia earlier today. The incident was believed to occur with 10 minutes remaining in the game, with the Elephants leading 3-1.
The Ghanaian match official was reportedly feeling unwell in the moments leading up to the episode, before players from both sets of teams tried to escort him to help.
According to the Daily Mail, Bulu was treated on the field of play before he was carried off on a stretcher, with reports since stating he was taken to hospital for further analysis.
Bulu was said to be given the game after the referee who was initially set to take charge of the match tested positive for COVID-19, while the game could not continue as the fourth official was Ivorian.
