Referee Causes Huge Drama In Mali's Win Over Tunisia

Mali got their Africa Cup of Nations off to a flying start, but there was some huge drama with the referee who decided to call full-time before the 90 minutes were done.

Referee Janny Sikazwe initially blew for full-time in the 85th minute, which prompted angry scenes from the Tunisian bench before the official eventually resumed the encounter.

However, the drama did not stop there as the Zambian official then blew for full-time once again in the 89th minute, sparking more outrage from Tunisia who were chasing the game.

There was surprisingly no stoppage time added despite the fact that were two Video Assistant Referee (VAR) checks and a red card issued to a Mali star in the closing stages.

There were also reports claiming that the final three minutes of stoppage time would be played despite the teams already leaving the field, however Tunisia decided against returning to the pitch to hand Mali the 1-0 win.
