Ghana and Chelsea defender Abdul Baba Rahman has admitted he was not shocked that Bafana Bafana failed to qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations after losing to Sudan.
The left-back featured in both of the Black Stars' final AFCON 2021 qualifiers, and was on the scoresheet in his side's 3-1 win over Sao Tome and Principe.
However, Ghana had already booked their ticket for next year's tournament in Cameroon after collecting a point in South Africa last week.
Following the 1-1 draw, Bafana needed just one point in their final qualifier against Sudan but failed to claim it, and missed out on qualification after ending in third spot in Group C.
Rahman, who is currently on loan at PAOK in the Greece Super League, has now insisted that he knew Molefi Ntseki's men would struggle to get a result in Sudan.
"I had it in mind that it will be difficult for South Africa to win there (Sudan)," he told Footballmadeinghana.com.
"I have been there and I saw how they played. If you go to Sudan or when we went there, the football wasn't attractive. They just want to win and so if you are not tough or have a bit of experience, then you get beaten easily.
"I knew it will be tough for South Africa to get a draw over there."
