UCL: Liverpool Leave It Late To Sink PSG

Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 Liverpool

Liverpool struck late in the second half to secure a 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last 16 tie.

The Reds made just one change for the clash as Andrew Robertson came in for Kostas Tsimikas, while PSG recalled Kvaratskhelia, Pacho and Vitinha.

The hosts though they had made their dominant start count as Kvaratskhelia carved out a little space in the box before curling a superb strike into the top corner but the strike was ruled out for offside.

Coach Arne Slot made an inspired substitution in the final five minutes by taking off Mohamed Salah for Harveu Elliot, who bagged the winning goal in the 86th minute with a first-time finish after being teed up by Darwin Nunez.

Benfica 0-1 FC Barcelona

Barcelona battled away in Portugal to secure a 1-0 win over Benfica in the first leg.

Frenkie de Jong, Alejandro Balde and Inigo Martinez were restored to the Barcelona line-up while Angel di Maria missed out for the home side.

The Catalan giants were dealt a blow after 23 minutes when defender Pau Cubarsi was shown a straight red card for bringing down Pavlidis, who as through on goal.

Even with a man down, Hansi Flick's charges got the game's only goal in the 61st minute thanks to Raphinha who intercepted a stray pass before firing into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

Bayern Munich 3-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Bayern Munich have one foot in the quarter-finals after thrashing Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 at the Allianz Arena.

The Bavarians got off to the perfect start when Harry Kane opened the scoring on 10 minutes by nodding home a cross from Michael Olise.

Vincent Kompany's charges carried their dominance into the second half and bagged a second goal ten minutes in thanks to a strike from Jama Musiala.

The situation got worse for Leverkusen, who were reduced to ten men in the 62nd minute when Nordi Mukiele was shown his second yellow card.

Bayern went on to bag a third goal in the 75th minute as Kane completed his brace from the penalty spot.

Feyenoord 0-2 Inter Milan

Inter Milan secured a good advantage in the first leg after defeating Feyenoord 2-0 on Wednesday night.

The Italian champions opened the scoring on 38 minutes when Marcus Thuram turned home a cross from Nico Barella.

The lead was doubled five minutes after the break, with captain Lautaro Martinez finding the back of the net with his sixth league goal of the tournament.
