The story
Former Bafana Bafana skipper, Lucas Radebe enjoyed many iconic moments as one of Leeds United's biggest cult heroes and legends.
One moment that stands out from Rhoo's memorable career in West Yorkshire was his performance in goal against Manchester United in 1996, where he produced a brilliant display.
Radebe had started out as a goalkeeper before making the switch to defence at Kaizer Chiefs. His goalkeeper muscle memory was clearly in tact when he was called upon to fill in for Mark Beeny, who was sent off in the 16th minute for handling the ball outside the box.
The towering defender was able to keep United's attack that featured the likes of Ryan Giggs and Andy Cole out until Roy Keane fired in the winner with 18 minutes left.
This valiant effort from Rhoo in goal was the start of his incredible journey The Whites, where he went on to captain the club and make over 250 appearances in an 11-year stay.
