The story
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are set to face off for the first time this season in a highly-anticipated Betway Premiership clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Both South African football giants are in strong form, with each side winning three and losing two of their last five league matches.
In terms of their kits, both Soweto Giants have always impressed with their designs over the last two decades or so, especially the special releases like their anniversary kits.
To continue the build-up to what promises to be a thrilling derby, we look at another two superb anniversary kits from two of South Africa's most supported clubs.
Orlando Pirates 75th Anniversary kit (2011/2012)
Worn by modern legends such as Daine Klate, Lucky Lekgwathi, Andile Jali and Oupa Manyisa to name a few, the Buccaneers' white away jersey from 2011/12 is one of the club's most iconic to date.
In a season where the Sea Robbers claimed a domestic treble by winning the league, MTN8 and Telkom Knockout, this 75th anniversary jersey is synonymous with the club's winning culture.
The white jersey with black collars and a matching strip in the middle of the top was inspired by Pirates' all-conquering team of 1973, which won all trophies on offer that season, boasting legends such as Jomo Sono, Percy 'Chippa' Moloi, and Shakes Mashaba.

Kaizer Chiefs 50th Anniversary kit (2019/2020)
Kaizer Chiefs' black and gold 50th anniversary commemorative jersey will long be remembered as one of the club's last great jerseys with Nike.
Used as Chiefs' 'Third' kit of the 2019/20 season, the collectors item strip featured several special details, including a special 50th anniversary logo, with the '5' representing the Amakhosi's challenging journey and the '0' representing unity, both on and off the field.
The arrow on that anniversary badge is a nod to the club's future growth. The classic all-black jersey, featuring a gold V-neck and gold sleeve bands, was a homage to their early 1970s kits.
The jersey was revealed online by club legends, including Doctor Khumalo, Vusi 'Computer' Lamola, and Bernard Parker among other major names.
Happy Birthday Amakhosi Family!Today is your day, our day. Our Chairman had a vision and this is why we are able to celebrate the biggest football brand on the continent.
