This weekend at FNB Stadium in the first meeting between the clubs this season, there are players who could make a maiden appearance in the derby.
This is a game that is often described as a 'make or break' for players and they will be aware of the importance of delivering to gain even more support from their followers.
On the Pirates side, Thabiso Sesane, Mohau Nkota, Deano Van Rooyen and Selaelo Rasebotja are players who have a big chance of making their Soweto derby debuts.
Sesane, Nkota and Van Rooyen are possible starters, while Rasebotja is a player head coach Jose Riveiro often brings on in the second half.

Chiefs, the away side in this clash, will have a large number of players who could make a first appearance in the derby.
All of Bradley Cross, Rushwin Dortley, Inacio Miguel and Gaston Sirino look set to feature in this clash for the first time in their careers, while January transfer window signings Tashreeq Morris, Thabo Cele and Glody Lilepo cannot be completely ruled out.
This will be a perfect time for the new men to impress, if given an opportunity by head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
