An official word from the Gqeberha-based outfit about the parting of ways was that the mentor's contract had come to an end.
The Chilli Boys' job was Kopo's first as the head coach in the top flight, having previously served as an assistant to other coaches while he also has loads of experience as a youth coach.
The tactician left Chippa in 9th place on the Betway Premiership log and with the team seen as one of the entertaining sides with their brand of football.

While many might have thought that the former SuperSport United assistant coach had a head coach job lined up somewhere else when he left, indications from close sources are that he is open to any technical role as he continues to weigh up his options.
"The coach (Kopo) is weighing his options and soon he will be back, but he won't be limited to the role of being a head coach in his search. There are options for him, and as a student of the game he isn't fascinated about positions but will be available for any technical role as long as the project is interesting and for a club with a vision whether it is in the PSL (top flight) or in the NFD," said the source.
