Earlier this week, news broke that the Matsatsantsa centre-back had travelled to Europe to trial with Ukrainian juggernauts Dynamo Kyiv. The 20-year-old has been a mainstay in Gavin Hunt's starting XI since graduating from SuperSport's MultiChoice Diski Challenge side last season.
Since debuting for the Tshwane-based side in August 2023, Okon has played 41 matches, starting 37 of those, according to Transfermarkt.
Still in the infancy stage of his South African top-flight career, the youngster could possibly already be jetting off to the Premier Liga to play for the record league champions. However, this will depend on the outcome of his trial period.
Dynamo Kyiv recently released a statement detailing how long Okon will be with the club and what his permanent arrival will depend on.
The statement reads: "Centre-back Ime Okon has joined FC Dynamo Kyiv training camp in Turkey.
"He's going to participate in Kyivans' friendlies. Based on the results of the trial the club will make a decision on whether to sign a contract with the player.
"Ime Okon was born on February 20 2004. He's the South African side SuperSport United FC defender.
"Okon has 41 appearances and 1 goal to his name."
