As the world ushers in the new year, various football clubs are making plans to welcome new players as the mid-season transfer window has officially opened. One African giant already looking to make inroads with a potential target is the Reds of Msimbazi.
Simba have been in phenomenal form during the 2024/25 campaign, currently sitting atop the Tanzanian Premier League. They are also tied for the top position in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup, alongside Bravos do Maquis and CS Constantine.
The appointment of Davids is now proving to be an inspired decision by the East African outfit, but it seems the South African tactician is not keen to rest on his laurels and wants to add additional quality to the side.
A top priority for the Cape Town native during this window is Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum.
Like Simba, the Taifa Stars playmaker has been in good form this season with four goals and nine assists, and according to Rwanda reporter Eric Ndagijimana, the Dar es Salaam-based side is preparing a $230,000 (R4.3 million) bid for the 26-year-old.

The midfielder netted 19 goals in the 2023/24 season with reports in August claiming that Mamelodi Sundowns had seen their bids rejected for the player.
Simba are, however, not the only side looking to sign Salum in January, as Chiefs are also mooted to be serious suitors for the 37-capped international.
Amakhosi head coach Nasreddine Nabi has worked with the player during their time at Young Africans and is reportedly eager to reunite with him.
