According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, the Red Devils have reached an agreement to sell midfielder Scott McTominay to Napoli.
The 27-year-old scored 10 goals for United in the 2023/24 campaign, including three match-winners.
It is reported that the 20-time English champions will sell the Scotland international to Gli Azzurri for €30 million (R594.7 million), subject to the player's approval.
McTominay's proposed switch to Antonio Conte's side is said to be pivotal to United's pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte.
Rumours suggest the Uruguayan is ready to travel to Manchester to complete a transfer to the club after agreeing personal terms.
Initially, it appeared the 23-year-old was set to join United on loan, but McTominay's potential move to Italy could see the South American sign a permanent contract in England.
