The story
As the start of the new season was ushered in by the MTN 8, with the start of the Betway Premiership edging ever closer, the rulers of the roost, Sundowns are getting their famous fans exciting for what promises to be an enthralling season.
The Tshwane giants gifted actors, Zolisa Xaluva and Lunga Shabalala their own Home and Away Downs jerseys, with club ambassador Tiyani Mabunda doing the handover and interviewing both stars.
Mabunda "ordained" Xaluva and Shabalala as part of the Masandawana family, with both TV stars expressed their excitement for receiving their "Rise.Rule.Repeat" jerseys and the season ahead:
"To have both the Home and Away kits for the season, coming all the way from Chloorkop, is a real honour for me and I appreciate it very much," said the "Kings of Joburg" actor, Zolisa Xaluva.
Xaluva has enjoyed a long and successful acting career on South Africa's most popular TV soaps, with arguably his most famous role being on "Generations" as Jason.
Mabunda went on to deliver Downs' Home and Away kits to actor, presenter, and model, Lunga Shabalala, who has supported the club since he was 11-years-old:
"This is a superstar team, what can I say man, since the age of 11, I've been a Sandawana. I was influenced by my uncle and I must say, in the beginning, things were tough. But [now], the good times are here. And I think for a lot of us now, the goal is to add to the lonely one star [on the Sundowns crest]."
