The Siya crew has already reported that Du Preez, 26, has been the subject of interest from Portuguese side Vitoria SC.
Vitoria are said to have been following the speedster since last season and have been tracking his progress throughout.
In fact, well-placed insiders have informed the crew that Amakhosi have been considering selling their star striker since July - which is the reason behind Du Preez missing the first few days of Chiefs' Turkiye pre-season tour, as opposed to being injured as stated by the club.

It is understood that the player remained behind in Johannesburg to see if anything would materialize between the two clubs, and only joined Chiefs in Europe after talks went quiet.
Vitoria are said to be weighing up a €2 million (±R40 million) transfer of the former Stellenbosch man, to which Chiefs are not opposed to, on condition that they find a suitable replacement for the club's top goalscorer last season.
With close to a month to go before the transfer window slams shut, it remains to be seen whether Chiefs can find a suitable replacement that would open up the door for Du Preez to seal a switch to Europe.
