In December 2023, the Lagos native signed a new contract with Italian giants Napoli, one that runs until 2026.
However, while he may have recently inked a new deal with the Neapolitans, the 25-year-old is still eager to leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in this transfer window.
When he extended his contract in Naples, it is claimed a release clause in the region of €120 million (R2.3 million) was inserted into the deal, and it is consequently believed that clubs did not make any serious enquiries for the Super Eagles superstar last month, but the same report claims that movement can soon be expected.
Clubs in Saudi Arabia, most recently Al Ahli, are said to not have an issue triggering the player's release clause, but Osimhen appears to be adamant on a move to the Premier League.
The reigning CAF Men's Player of the Year has previously stated that the English top flight is a dream destination for him, but it remains to be seen which teams in that division will seriously consider signing the forward.
Arsenal and Chelsea are in the market for a striker, with both having tried to sign Slovenia attacker Benjamin Sesko, but after the 21-year-old decided to sign a new contract until 2029 with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, both London clubs will now be forced to turn their attention elsewhere.
