Poch Casts Doubts Over Chelsea Future

Poch Casts Doubts Over Chelsea Future

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that his future with the Blues is uncertain following an erratic first season with the club.

The west Londoners did not have the best end to the month of April. They first crashed out of the FA Cup after a 1-0 semi-final defeat to Manchester City, before suffering a heavy 5-0 loss to crosstown rivals Arsenal in the league.

It seemed they were destined for more misery last weekend when they were down 2-0 to Aston Villa by half-time.

They managed to salvage a 2-2 result against Unai Emery's charges, though, and rode the momentum from that second half into their next London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.

The Blues' May got off to a much better start as they came away from Stamford Bridge with all three points against the Lilywhites courtesy of a 2-0 win.

Despite the victory over his former side, however, Pochettino revealed after the match that he is unsure whether or not he will be occupying the Chelsea dugout come the 2024/25 campaign.

"Enough is enough. All managers need time to translate their ideas and philosophy. It's not my decision [if he gets more time]. I don't know [if he is being judged by the owners]," the Argentine tactician said, as per Goal.

"It's difficult to see every single week that I am under scrutiny and judgement. It's not my decision whether to be here or not to be here [next season]. I can't say nothing.

"What I can say is if after the decision, if we want to match the history of Chelsea, it's a lot of work to do. We'll see if we have time to build this way."
