In their most recent league encounter, Yanga suffered their second defeat of the league campaign as they were thwarted by Azam FC 2-1.
That loss means that crosstown rivals Azam have now cut their lead at the top of the log to just five points, perhaps not the ideal way to go into a match against a Masandawana side that has not lost an away game the in the Champions Leagues knockout stages since April 2022.
However, Gamondi is optimistic his charges will bounce back against the reigning DStv Premiership champions when they face off this weekend at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
"In football, mistakes happen. My players made a few errors and were duly punished. However, they have pledged to fight back and bring joy to our fans. I'm impressed by their determination, which I believe will elevate our competitive spirit in the CAF Champions League match," he said, as per The Guardian.
The Argentine tactician also emphasised the need for all his players to stay ready as he plans to rely on more than just his starting XI for the match.
"Each player in my squad must be prepared for action at any given moment. I believe in giving everyone a chance, and that's why I emphasise training," he added.
