Since his departure from Orlando Pirates in 2019, Milutin Sredojevic has closely monitored the team's progress, the experienced coach has confirmed this speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.
Sredojevic had been in charge as Pirates coach during his second spell between 2017 and 2019.
Despite failing to win the league, the Serbian tactician was credited for helping Bucs improve after finishing in second place on the log behind Mamelodi Sundowns in both seasons he was in charge.
Sredojevic has been impressed with the work done by current head coach Jose Riveiro, who has already led the team to two MTN8 trophies and a Nedbank Cup during his tenure.
As Pirates will be facing perennial rivals Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, Micho, as the coach is known in football circles, will be one of those backing the Buccaneers to do well, the team can be assured of that judging by the love the 54-year-old has for the club.
The Good
"Orlando Pirates live deep inside my heart, soul and mind. I feel Orlando Pirates in my blood. Having that in mind, I feel like any other diehard supporter because I feel good when they are winning. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate coach Riveiro, the team, management of the club, chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza, and the many supporters of the institution that is Orlando Pirates for winning all the cups that they have won, and many more to come," said Sredojevic.
The Bad
"I'm someone who is following the club and when things are not going well, I sulk like everyone because I know it is not easy. I feel the pain of being down when things are not okay, and I feel the happiness when the club is up no matter who the coach is, or who is doing whatsoever job," he said.
The Ugly
"What is more important is that the club is more important than anyone and therefore I have the highest degree of respect for Orlando Pirates as an institution and as a pillar of the game in South Africa, Africa and the world. I wish them all the best in whatever they are doing. I'm a diehard supporter but constructively and not destructively in the way that I could criticise and question this and that. I know that everyone does their jobs in the best way to make the supporters happy," the coach concluded.
