Former Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has sent a strong message to Erik ten Hag amid his lack of game time at the Red Devils.

The England international has endured a difficult year since the Dutchman's appointment at the 20-time English champions, having lost his place in the side and been stripped of captaincy.
Injuries to key players this season, though, have seen the centre-back come back into the team as he started in United's dramatic 2-1 victory over Brentford at Old Trafford last weekend, in which he got the assist for Scott McTominay's winning goal.
Maguire did reportedly have the opportunity to leave the Red Devils in the recent transfer window, but decided to stay at the club in order to force his way back into Ten Hag's plans.
However, he has made it clear that he wants more opportunities.
"I want to fight for my place but, of course, game time is really important to me," he said, according to the Daily Mirror.
"It's not my decision whether I start the next game or not. I'm unsure about that. In a couple of weeks, I'll go back and find out.
"It has been tough, I want to play games, I want to feel important to the club and to the rest of the team. At the moment, I haven't been playing anywhere near as much as I would like. That is the bottom line."
