The South African Football Association has announced a new sponsorship for the senior men's national team, Bafana Bafana.
The association confirmed that 10Bet South Africa has come on board as a sponsor as the betting part of Bafana Bafana. SAFA president Danny Jordaan confirmed a four-year deal has been signed with the betting company and this will cover them for the Africa Cup of Nations tournaments too.
Speaking at a press conference held at Nasrec, Jordaan explained how the partnership will come in handy as Bafana Bafana prepare for AFCON in January, set to be staged in Côte d'Ivoire.
"This is a delightful day for the country, for SAFA and in particular Bafana Bafana. 10Bet is a global brand, with a footprint in our country. They are now the official betting partner for our senior national team, Bafana Bafana. This is a four-year deal, so it's going to cover two AFCONs. We are going to Côte d'Ivoire and whoever gets 2025, they (10Bet South Africa) will also be there with us because we will be there," Jordaan said to media.
"Bafana Bafana is an essential part of the country's lively sport culture, fan culture. If we look back to what happened in the game against Morocco, you will see that one of the most loved teams in this country is Bafana Bafana. When they perform, there is nothing more that can put a big smile on the faces of fans. So, we are very happy that 10Bet is there with our team. The partnership in moving forward towards preparation for AFCON will be a centre-part of giving enhanced fan engagement around the Bafana Bafana brand. You will see them when the team is training and when the team is playing. We hope this partnership will be mutually beneficial."
