South African esports juggernauts Goliath Gaming (GG) have partnered with McDonald's to search for the country's next FIFA gaming superstars to join the Goliath Academy.

McDonald's SA, together with Goliath Gaming, is looking forward to finding Mzansi's next best FIFA gamer in a innovative new partnership.
The partnership aims to provide up-and-coming gamers with the support and opportunities to level up their skills, with the goal with the Academy is to provide opportunities to empower young gamers who display passion and promise.
Let's take a closer look at this partnership.
Goliath Gaming x McDonald's
The search is on to find aspiring FIFA gamers of all levels who have a passion for the game and are interested in taking their gaming to the next level in an exciting new project by McDonald's and GG.
SA gaming star Julio Bianchi, who's also the FIFA team captain for Goliath Gaming, is thrilled about the partnership with McDonald's and is looking forward to reaching more gamers across and empowering up-and-coming talent:
"I know first-hand how one single opportunity can change your life, which is why I'm incredibly excited about the journey ahead with McDonald's SA and what it means for young aspiring gamers in South Africa.
"The McDonald's SA and Goliath Gaming Academy search is just the beginning, we have some exciting things in the pipeline for the months ahead," says Bianchi.
The scouting process for this will comprise of an online registration page for interested gamers to sign up. Following a rigorous vetting process of all submissions by some of SA's top FIFA gamers, the top 128 will go through to a series of FIFA competitions to be held at specific McDonald's SA restaurants in Johannesburg on select dates.
The top 3 gamers in the competition will earn their spot into the Goliath Gaming Academy. The 4th bonus spot will be awarded to the gamer who gets the most community votes.
The four lucky gamers will join GG's Academy for a select period of time and will get to work closely with the team to hone their skills and will be provided with a gaming console, a screen and equipment, and internet connection.
They'll receive FIFA coaching from the GG FIFA team, will have access to their facilities, and will also receive coaching from the team's performance coach.
Registration is now open and closes on 15 July 2023.
