Portugal international Joao Cancelo left the Citizens to join Bayern Munich on loan in January this past season, but will not be staying at the Bundesliga champions.
The fullback could have signed for the German side permanently had they exercised their option to hang on to him for a fee of €70 million (R1.4 billion), but they declined the opportunity to do so.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, there is little chance the former Inter Milan and Valencia star stays at City for the 2023/24 campaign, largely due to the relationship he has with Guardiola.
Arsenal and Barcelona have emerged as potential destinations for the 29-year-old, who was once considered among City's star players prior to his surprise loan departure in January.
It was claimed at the time that Cancelo was offended at being left out of certain matches in the weeks leading up to his exit.
