Los Blancos have confirmed the arrival of Spanish forward Joselu on a season-long loan from recently relegated Espanyol.

The record UEFA Champions League winners are reported to have paid the Catalan club a €500 000 (R9.9 million) loan fee, and have a non-mandatory clause to buy the player permanently for €1.5 million (R29.8 million) at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The Stuttgart-born attacker signs with Los Merengues for the second time in his career, having joined their reserve team in 2009, but left the club three years later to play in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim.

The Spain international will now have the opportunity to finally don the Los Blancos first team jersey, becoming the first attacker to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu since the departures of forwards Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz earlier this month.
