The 23-year-old has struggled for form and fitness during his first two years at Old Trafford, and is now believed to have held crunch talks with the Dutch tactician because of it.
Ten Hag is said to have spoken to every member of his 2022/23 squad regarding their role in his plans for next season before they left for their holidays.
According to The Sun, the United manager told Sancho he needs to prove he can be a key figure at the Theatre of Dreams in order to be a part of his long-term project, with it claimed the 53-year-old believes he can have United challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

The England international also missed significant playing time after the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to what his manager called "mental and physical issues". The Manchester City academy graduate, however, returned to the playing fold in February and scored four goals to round off the league campaign.
