Maritzburg are fully focused on retaining their topflight status with a crucial must-win upcoming fixture against Cape Town Spurs on Wednesday – but the Team of Choice have been on the ball regarding their top players.
As reported by the Siya crew last month, Chiefs expressed an interest in the services of the Team of Choice's 22-year-old midfield sensation who has been one of the standout players for Maritzburg both in the league and in the play-offs where he has managed three goals in as many games.
However, word reaching the crew's desk is that Maritzburg want to hold onto the SA U23 captain and as a result, have exercised the one-year option in his contract, deflecting Chiefs' interest in the Westbury-born player for now.
Chiefs have already bolstered their squad with the incoming additions of Given Msimango, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Mduduzi Mdantsane although it appears they would have to pay a transfer fee to Maritzburg if they are to add Human to that list.
Human made 27 appearances for the Pietermaritzburg outfit in all competitions this season.
