Chippa United had survived relegation from the DStv Premiership on the last day of the season after they played to goalless draw with Golden Arrows.
In what proved to be a difficult season, one of the players who had stood out was Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro who scored 10 goals in the league and was just two short of the top goal scorers Peter Shalulile and Khanyisa Mayo of Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City respectively.

Now, Siya crew have been informed that the Chilli Boys are potentially in talks with Mamelodi Sundowns to keep Ighodaro for another year.
The source added that Chippa are aware that many teams, including possibly Kaizer Chiefs are interested in the striker. They know that it will be difficult to keep him at their club but Chippa will it give it their best to convince Masandawana.
"He is a wanted man. He is on demand. There are several teams, both in South Africa and outside, including Egypt and Europe, who have been enquiring about him," the Siya source said.
"Chippa want to keep him. That's why they are talking to Sundowns. The problem is Sundowns, who loaned the striker to University of Pretoria before he went to Chippa, are so quiet on whether they want him back for next season or not.
"So, for now Chippa are engaging with Sundowns with the aim of keeping him for next season. But, it will all depend on whether Sundowns want to use him or not," the source said.
The other teams interested in the 21-year-old, as previously reported by the Siya crew, are Chiefs, French side Reims, Belgian side KVC Westerlo and Egyptian giants Zamalek.
