According to Sport, Liverpool want to sign Ivory Coast international Franck Kessie from the Blaugrana.
A number of Reds midfielders have been confirmed as leaving Anfield ahead of the new campaign, and the club seems keen to replace their outgoings as soon as possible.
Kessie has struggled to secure a regular starting berth in Catalonia, but has played well when given the chance. Performances like the one against Real Madrid in Barca's 2-1 win in the league, in which he scored the opener, have managed to uphold his high profile among European clubs.
Inter Milan are also believed to be interested in signing the midfielder. The 2022/23 UEFA Champions League finalists' interest in Kessie dates back as far as the January transfer window, but having tried to orchestrate a deal, one in which it was said Marcelo Brozovic would move in the opposite direction, the Milanese and the Catalans failed to reach an agreement.
The same report claims that the LaLiga champions have received a bid of £30 million (R716 million) from the Merseyside outfit, and will accept it if the player give the move the green light, as they look to generate funds in order to stabilise their financial situation and potentially sign Lionel Messi.
