Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper William "Cool Cat" Shongwe says the club should beef up their technical team and sign players who fit head coach Arthur Zwane's style if they are to significantly improve in the Premiership next season.
Shongwe, who was Amakhosi's number one goalkeeper in the 80s, spoke exclusively to the Siya crew. He believes Zwane is not the problem, but that the players need to take responsibility too.

"They have to identify the right players for the kind of style that the team is playing," Shongwe told Soccer Laduma.
"I have seen that Arthur (Zwane) wants the team to play passing football. Do the players they sign fit that system? Yes, they signed a lot of players but were they the right players for the kind of football that the coach wants?
"And by the way, who signs the players at Chiefs? Is the coach involved in signing the players? Do they sign the players that he wants as a coach who will fit into his playing style?
"They should identify and sign players who will fit into the coach's playing style then results will start coming," Shongwe added.
The SuperSport Football TV analyst added that, he believes, the other problem is that Amakhosi's technical staff numbers are not strong enough for a club as big as Chiefs.
"You have only two young, up and coming coaches for such a big team. They cannot do everything on their own. Yes, Molefi (Ntseki) is there but with only him there, that can't help the team.
"They need to have an experienced someone who is tactically aware of the game who can help them. They need a big brother figure on the technical team. And also they should have technical analysts who can analyse each and every game as well as the opposition.
"They have analysts who only analyse their performances and prepare for the next game. They need to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition and know how they can beat them and at the same time know how to take advantage of the opposition.
"I don't think their technical team is big enough to do all that. If they don't improve in those areas, we have talked about it and it will be difficult to improve the results on the field of play. I hope they will understand what I am saying and implement these (improvements) going forward," the Swazi born Shongwe observed.
