The 35-year-old is calling time on his illustrious career in the Spanish capital. It was believed the Lyon native would lead the line for the Spanish giants for one more season, but he has opted against staying on board with Los Merengues.

The ex-France international arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2009 alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, and now he will likely follow the Portuguese superstar to the oil-rich nation to contest for the league title, this time on opposite teams.
