The Frenchman will officially depart Los Blancos at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old is calling time on his illustrious career in the Spanish capital. It was believed the Lyon native would lead the line for the Spanish giants for one more season, but he has opted against staying on board with Los Merengues.

The forward will leave the Spanish giants as one of football's most decorated players ever, having made 647 appearances for Real while becoming the club's third all-time top goalscorer with 353 strikes to date.

The ex-France international arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2009 alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, and now he will likely follow the Portuguese superstar to the oil-rich nation to contest for the league title, this time on opposite teams.
