According to The Telegraph, the Argentine has put pen to paper on a contract that will see him be unveiled as Chelsea's newest boss.
The 51-year-old was out of football management for the entirety of the 2022/23 season after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in July last year, but it is now believed he will return to London and the English top flight to succeed Graham Potter as the Blues' new permanent shot-caller.
Potter was the second of four managers the west Londoners have had this past campaign, with the English tactician taking the reins from German boss Thomas Tuchel.
The appointment of the ex-Brighton Hove and Albion boss proved a failure, though, as he managed only 12 wins in the 31 games he oversaw for the two-time European champions before being fired.
Bruno Saltor and then Frank Lampard replaced Potter in the interim as Chelsea finished the league campaign in 12th position, their worst Premier League season since the 1993/94 season.

However, it now seems that Pochettino is destined to take the managerial baton from the club legend as he looks to lead Chelsea into yet another off-season rebuild.
The Murphy native has vast Premier League experience, having led Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur to relative success, but could now be facing his toughest test in English football's top division when he takes the reins at Stamford Bridge.
