Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly anticipating his captain Ilkay Gundogan's exit, and could reunite with a Bayern Munich superstar as he looks to replace the German.

Gundogan's future remains up in the air, with the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal having reportedly made their intentions clear about their pursuit of the City captain.
It is believed the Premier League champions also want to retain their skipper's services, but in the event he decides to call time on his seven-year stint at the Etihad Stadium, it seems Guardiola already has a replacement in mind.
According to The Sun, the Spaniard sees Joshua Kimmich as an ideal replacement for Gundogan.
Guardiola signed the Germany international when he was at the Allianz Arena in 2015, and the right-back-cum-midfielder has been an ever-present in the Bayern fold ever since.
It is believed Kimmich is still upset about the way Julian Nagelsmann was sacked earlier this year, and is open to taking on a new challenge, while his ability to play in both midfield and across the back four is appreciated by the former Barcelona boss.
Given how much of an important player the seven-time Bundesliga winner is for Die Roten, getting him to leave Bavaria will not be a cheap exercise, but with Joao Cancelo already at the home of the German giants, City will be hoping they can come to an agreement over the two players making permanent moves in the opposite directions.
With Cancelo currently on loan at Bayern, the Citizens have reportedly placed a £60 million (R1.4 billion) price tag on the Portuguese, but while the Bavarians are interested in keeping the player, they deem that fee too high.

Barca are also said to be interested in Kimmich if they fail to land Gundogan's signature.
