The 22-year-old was given his marching orders in the 97th minute of Los Blancos' drama-filled 1-0 loss to Valencia this past weekend.
Vinicius was adjudged to have hit out an opponent, Hugo Duro, during a scuffle after the Valencia forward seemed to grab hold of him by the neck. Duro, however, went unpunished.
The incident followed a string of controversial moments during the LaLiga encounter, with the Brazilian having complained to the referee that he was being racially abused by supporters in the crowd.

After the game, Vinicius took to social media to lambast the discriminatory treatment he received at the Mestalla, a statement that has since gained worldwide support from powerful figures in football.
Real have since revealed they will be taking the matter to court in response to the ugly scenes, while Marca reports that six officials have been fired by LaLiga, including Iglesias Villanueva, who was the VAR in charge on Sunday.
It is claimed LaLiga could not understand why only certain images were shown to the match referee before Vinicius was sent off, with the footage of Duro grabbing the Selecao star around the neck not being shown.
