Pochettino is now stranger to the Premier League, having previously managed Southampton and London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Club legend Frank Lampard will remain in charges on an interim basis for the remainder of the season, with the club taking on Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United in their final three games.
Lampard is the third coach to take charge of the Blues after Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter were both sacked by owner Todd Boehly.
