Having failed to feature regularly for yet another season at Real Madrid, Eden Hazard has confirmed his future plans with the Spanish giants.

The 32-year-old became the most expensive player in Los Blancos' history when they paid Chelsea a staggering €115 million (R2.3 billion) for his services in 2019, signing a five-year deal worth €600 000 (R12.1 million) a week before deductions, according to Capology.
However, since making his way to the Spanish capital, the Belgian has failed to replicate the form that made him so revered in west London before making his record move to Spain.
The winger has barely featured for the Madrid giants since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu because of injuries and inconsistent form, and that trend has continued in the 2022/23 campaign.
Most recently, the La Louviere native was an unused substitute in Real's first Copa del Rey triumph in nine years, but after the game he revealed that he plans to see out the rest of his contract with the club.
"It's been a difficult year, but with a very big team," Hazard told Cadena SER.
"Honestly, I'm planning to stay at Real Madrid next season. I expect to stay as I want to celebrate the last year of the contract I have left.
"I have a good relationship with the club and with the players too. I want to play, but I know it's very difficult. I have to work and hope I can play more."

Hazard has only managed to register seven goals across all competitions since arriving in Madrid, and while the retired Belgium international would like to see out the remaining year on his deal with Los Merengues, Real are perhaps not keen on having the winger's huge wages on their books for much longer, and are expected to transfer-list him as a result.
